Registration

Online registration will open 22 December 2009 and will close 31 May 2010. Early registration fees are available until 31 March 2010. After this date, the increased fees are due, ALSO FOR PRESENTERS. A registration desk will also be set up at the conference centre for on-site registrations.

Note that accepted abstracts from presenters not having registered before 31 March 2010 will be excluded from the abstract book.

SPECIAL FEES FOR ONE-DAY GENERAL MEETING: 275 Euros (except for June 8th: 150 Euros)


A brief description of the meeting activities follows. More details related to venue, content, and transportation are presnted in other sections of the circular.

  1. Workshop on Materials and Clay Minerals (Sunday, 06 June 2010, WORKSHOP ONLY, fee 130€)
    Includes admission to technical presentations, notes, workshop booklet, and lunch plus refreshments. Accomodation is being arranged. All technical sessions will be held at the Materials Science Institute of Madrid, CSIC, on the Autonomous University Campus (http://www.icmm.csic.es/) on the northern edge of Madrid. The location is well connected by bus and train from down town.

  2. Sepiolite Symposium: Field Trip to Mg-Clay (sepiolite, saponite, etc.) Deposits of the South Madrid Basin. (Monday, 07 June 2009, FIELD TRIP ONLY, fee 60€). Includes guidebook, transportation and lunch. Accomodation at Husa Chamartin recommended. Field trip bus will depart hotel at 08:00 sharp and will not return to the hotel. Bring your luggage with you. The field trip bus will deliver you to the bus, (South Station on Mendez Alvaro Street), train station (Atocha Station) or airport (Madrid-Barajas) after 17:00 for travel to Seville. You must arrange your own ticket for travel to Seville.

  3. General Meeting (Tuesday, 08 June through Thursday, 10 June 2010)
    The registration fee (450€) includes admission to all scientific sessions, exhibits, poster area, opening ceremony and Alcazar reception, meeting documents (incl. book and CD of abstracts), certificate of attendance, coffee and refreshments, lunch (each day), the gala closing banquet and transport (when needed).The technical sessions will be held in Hotel Melia´Sevilla, the general meeting headquartrs. (excursion to Rio Tinto fee not included).

  4. The Full Package 2010 TMC. (06 June through 10 June 2010)
    Activities 1 plus 2 plus 3, fee 600€ (a 40€ discount) Includes participation in the Workshop on Materials & Clay Minerals, Mg-Clay Field Trip, and the General Meeting (Transport between Madrid and Seville and excursion to Rio Tinto not included).

  5. Excursion to Rio Tinto. (11 June 2010, fee 40€) includes transportation, field guide, and lunch. Rio Tinto mines are located in the province of Huelva, about 80 km northwest of Seville. Bus will depart from the convention hotel at 08:00 and return late in the afternoon.

  6. Corporate Patron
    Corporations with an interest in clays and clay minerals are invited to become a patron of the meeting by payment of a 2000€ fee. This entitles them to a Full Package 2010 TMC registration and identification in all publications as a patron of the meeting.

  7. Accompanying persons
    (120€) Fee includes Alcazar Welcoming Reception on Tuesday and Conference Banquet on Thursday. A number of optional excursions in the Seville area may be selected. Details and fees to be provided by the travel agency. Accompanying persons should complete a separate registration form.

  8. One-day General Meeting attendants
    June 8th: 150 €. June 9th: 275 €. June 10th: 275 €. Fees include free access to the on day Technical Activities (Lectures, Communications, Posters,..), coffee-breaks and lunch. Details and registration procedure will be later announced.

Important additional information : No registration is accepted unless accompanied by full payment (banker’s draft, copy bank transfer or credit card). The registration will be confirmed only after receipt of the required fees, as well as the abstract will be considered for the inclusion in the Abstract Book. For this reason we recommend to send a copy (as pdf) of Bank transfer with the abstract, if this way of payment is used.

The payment of registration fees and accommodations can be made by credit card or bank transfer.

Student grants

A limited number of student grants will be available to assist with the expenses of postgraduate students and young researchers belonging to one the organizing societies. Consult webpages of your society for details.
